"They will forget about Russia" — German political blogger about the results of the elections in the former GDR

On the occasion of the elections, blogger Uwe Niemeyer wore a GDR military uniform. Freeze frame: t.me/baltischewelle

German political blogger Uwe Niemeyer commented on the elections in Thuringia in his telegram channel "Baltische Welle" and Saxony. The expert basically calls these federal lands the "former Soviet occupation zone."

According to the political blogger, the elections showed that Germany is still divided.

"The real reunification never happened, and the population of the federal states of Saxony and Thuringia started correcting the error on October 3, 1990 (the day the GDR was incorporated by West Germany. — EADaily)," Uwe Niemeyer is convinced.

Analyzing the election victory of two pro-Russian parties "Alternative for Germany" and "Sarah Wagenknecht Union", the expert predicts:

"Both parties have collected a significant part of the votes in both Saxony and Thuringia and therefore will have a significant impact on political life in the former Soviet occupation zone, regardless of whether they form a government or not. Despite the significant share of votes, the AfD will not participate in any government of Saxony and Thuringia. No one will enter into a coalition with the "AFD". This means that no de facto government will be formed either in Saxony, nor in Thuringia. Both countries are becoming ungovernable. No government formed as a result of these elections will in practice benefit the peoples of the two federal states, but will simply contribute to the political crisis in east Germany."

Another confirmation that both regions will become ungovernable, according to Niemeyer, is the fact that Alternative for Germany today has an opposition blocking majority, because it is "such a strong parliamentary opposition force that it can block any decision of the government of the earth."

Speaking about Russia, Uwe Niemeyer, who has lived in Russia for more than 30 years, believes:

"For Russia, this election result means that we can, as before, concentrate on our own problems and their solution. With their anti-Russian policy, the Germans are organizing so many problems for themselves in all areas of public, political, economic and financial life that in the future there will be fewer and fewer opportunities for interference in our internal affairs."
