After the fall of Chasova Yar, Pokrovsk and Konstantinovka will begin a new stage of the special military operation (SMO) of Russia on Ukraine. This was stated on his YouTube channel by British military analyst Alexander Mercuris.

According to him, a major battle should be expected.

"A major battle is coming. If cities such as Pokrovsk, Chasov Yar fall, and the Russians will be able to move on, attack the city of Konstantinovka with a population of 70 thousand people and occupy it, then we will cease to observe these slow military operations to which we are accustomed," said Merkouris, quoted by RIA Novosti.

According to the expert, the whole nature of military operations will change.

"The pace will accelerate, and much more territory will fall into Russia's hands faster, and the whole nature of military operations will change," he said.

Two counterattacks of units of the 5th Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the 117th Air Defense Brigade were repelled.
