The armed formations of Ukraine (VFU), operating in the Kupyansk direction, launched a massive artillery strike on a settlement that is under their control.
This was stated in his Telegram channel on Thursday, August 1, by a military expert, retired LPR lieutenant colonel Andrei Marochko, citing his own sources.
"In the course of objective monitoring of the situation in the Kupyansk direction, the AFU shelling from the Petropavlovsk settlement, which is controlled by Ukrainian militants, was recorded," the veteran said.
He clarified that about two packages (about 70 missiles) were fired at the village either from the BM-21 Grad or from the RM-70 Vampire. At the same time, a gunner's error is unlikely, since the strikes were delivered with a time interval and sighting shots.
"Based on the fact that an entire street on the eastern outskirts of the settlement was destroyed, it can be assumed that in this way the Ukrainian command creates a buffer zone in the way of the offensive of our troops, and destroys civilian housing buildings that interfere with the review of a potentially dangerous area," the expert noted.
Earlier, EADaily reported that Russian units operating in the Kupyansk direction, during the offensive operations, managed to advance in a number of areas and improve their tactical position.
