The Moldovan government panicked: People have found out the truth about us!

The Moldovan authorities see that the citizens of the country consider the current government to be a puppet, therefore they will seriously fight this "disinformation", which will only increase before the elections. This was announced on TV8 by the press secretary of the Cabinet of Ministers Daniel Voda.

According to the official, the state is trying to combat such stuffing, but citizens themselves should be more attentive to the sources of information. As an example, he spoke about his visit to the south of the country in Taraclia. At the meeting there, people openly told him that the current Moldovan government "is controlled by US President Joe Biden and European leaders," and the executive branch cannot make independent decisions. Voda admitted that citizens believe these narratives and even tried to convince him of this. That is why it is important to "inform people" about the work of the authorities.

"We are talking about the need to explain everything that is being done. The so—called "volunteers" who promote this information for money, citizens should ask where they got this information from and who pays them to report it," Voda tries to justify himself.

Answering a question about the activities of the Center for Strategic Communications and the Fight against Disinformation "Patriot", which is popularly called the "Ministry of Truth" (engaged in "correct" information and censorship), he noted that this structure will soon submit a report on its activities. At first, we didn't hear about her work, as the center was being formed, analysts were being recruited, a team and principles of work were being formed.

"Patriot is already working in various companies in cooperation with development partners, and Ms. Anna Revenko (head of the center, ex-Interior Minister) will tell you more about this later. They focus on strategic topics for the republic: European integration, national security, social cohesion," Voda stressed.

It should be recalled that over the past year and a half, about 20 opposition TV channels and about a hundred Internet portals have been shut down in the republic, accused of "disinformation and promoting the interests of the Russian Federation," Russian information content has been completely blocked. According to Voda, this has nothing to do with restricting freedom of speech. The government allegedly advocates that all the criteria of media legislation be observed, and if the Radio and TV Council sees violations, it can ask questions about transactions, where this or that money comes from.

"When we see different companies broadcasting today under one name and tomorrow under another... and at the same time receiving dirty money that is used from stolen funds of citizens, it is important that government agencies do not stand aside, but act," Daniel Voda concluded.

Commenting on the recent appearance of the national version of the Mirotvorets website, where personal data on opposition politicians, public figures and "Russian agents" have been published, the government speaker began to assert that the authorities have nothing to do with this, and law enforcement agencies are already investigating this situation.

"It is important to know who creates these sites. The second question is whether to believe it or not. Because the submission of information is a very sensitive matter. If someone does not tell their first and last name, then these people have something to hide," Voda added.

At the same time, Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Rechan said earlier that he welcomed the appearance of this "anonymous" platform, "which presupposes the correct informing of our citizens" about persons who "committed actions against national interests."
