President of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski has visited the Grzechotki- Mamonovo check-point on the Polish-Russian border where he stated that Poland “must be ready to fall on hard times.”
According to Radio of Poland, the president said Poland must learn lessons from the situation in Ukraine and be prepared for possible danger. Komorowski said Poland must develop a system of responding to the “men in green” (masked gunmen in unmarked uniforms) who unleashed war in Ukraine.
He said the frontier service must be supplied with advanced equipment, as it is an important part of Poland’s security system.
Reportedly, Grzechotki is the biggest border crossing on the Polish-Russian boundary. Nearly 6,000 people pass it every day. Poland is now reinforcing the border by bringing armed forces to the frontier and training the frontier guards to defend the country.
