The British company BAE Systems for the first time showed the fuselage of a demonstrator of a promising sixth-generation fighter aircraft being created as part of the Global Combat Air Program (GCAP). The publication has already been commented on by experts from the world of weapons from the TWZ edition.
The photo of the part assembled at the Samlesbury plant has been officially published, and it is the clearest to date. The wings and keel for the machine are manufactured in Wharton, and the first flight is scheduled for the end of 2027.
Judging by the picture and additional information, the fighter will receive two EJ200 engines (as on Typhoon), without horizontal tail. In April, Edgewing received a contract for $ 906 million to create this aircraft.
The GCAP program is the result of cooperation between the UK, Japan and Italy. The share of each country in the project has not yet been specified.
