The founder of the Telegram messenger Pavel Durov was charged by the FSB with facilitating terrorist activities. He faces a sentence of seven to 15 years.
According to the FSB, the administration of the Telegram messenger has not deleted the channels, chats and bots actively used by the special services of Ukraine to prepare sabotage and terrorist acts in Russia, mass murders, as well as cyber fraud, the consequences of which were numerous human casualties, including women and children, multibillion-dollar material damage.
"The head of the Telegram administration, P. Durov, has been charged in the framework of the criminal case under investigation on the grounds of the corpus delicti provided for in Part 1.1 of Article 205.1 (assistance to terrorist activities) of the Criminal Code of Russia," the report says.
