Soviet and Latvian singer Laima Vaikule, who after the start of a special military operation regularly expresses an ardent Russophobic position, is studying Russian. The singer admitted this in an interview on the YouTube channel "And Graham struck."
She clarified that Andrei Makarevich, the leader of the Time Machine group, helps her improve her knowledge of Russian❶.
"Russian is no longer fashionable, and I'm starting to learn it thanks to Andrei. I kind of speak it well, but it's not my native language. There are words whose meanings I still don't know," the actress admitted.
As reported by EADaily, in April of this year, the joint performance of Vaikule and Makarevich❶ in Chisinau was canceled without clear explanations. The organizers called the reason for this decision "technical circumstances." These "circumstances" coincided with the recommendations of the Ministry of Culture of Moldova to the organizers of the events to reconsider cooperation with some foreign artists, calling their performances "inappropriate" in order to avoid "reputational risks" and possible incidents with denial of entry into the country.
