If the Bundestag elections were held now, the Alternative for Germany party would have won almost half of the single-member constituencies of Germany. This is stated in the forecast of the INSA Sociological Institute.
Now the party, according to INSA, is leading in federal polls with 29% support. According to the institute, the AfD could take 144 out of 299 districts and thereby triple the number of direct mandates.
In the 2025 elections, the party won only 46 districts, while the CDU/CSU received 190, the SPD - 45, the Greens — 12, and the Left Party — 6.
The main change is that the AfD can go far beyond the east of Germany, where it won the last election. Now the districts that used to be considered the mainstay of the CDU/CSU, as well as parts of the old electoral base of the SPD in the Ruhr region, are ready to support her, the Bild Springerite tabloid is experiencing.
