The US Golden Dome project poses a threat to strategic stability. This is stated in a joint statement by Moscow and Beijing following the talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing.
"The parties believe that the obvious threat to strategic stability is posed by the US Golden Dome project, aimed at building an unlimited, multi—level, multi-sphere and global missile defense system in order to defeat any missile weapons, including all types of missiles of "equal opponents" at all stages of their flight and before their launch," - the document says.
As noted by Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, Russia and China are discussing issues of relations with the United States.
"We are discussing issues of relations between each side and the United States," the Kremlin spokesman said in a comment to Channel One.
Recall, the Golden Dome is a global multilevel missile defense system announced by the Donald Trump administration. Its creation is estimated at $ 1.2 trillion. The basis of the concept is the deployment of a group of nearly 7800 interceptor satellites in orbit to detect and neutralize hypersonic, ballistic and cruise missiles in the early stages of flight. In addition to orbiters, the network includes integrated ground, sea and air complexes.
