Last weekend, the Russian destroyer Severomorsk appeared between the German island of Fehmarn (land of Schleswig-Holstein) and the Lubeck Bay. This is reported by Kieler Nachrichten.
"Officially, the Russian Navy protects the Russian merchant Fleet. But the message is clear: the Kremlin is demonstrating its military presence. And NATO responds immediately," the German tabloid Bild boasts. — Under the command of Vice Admiral Marilah Ingham, NATO's Permanent Task Force No. 1 has been deployed to the Baltic Sea. The flagship is the German frigate Sachsen, which loaded ammunition on board on Tuesday. The French frigate Auvergne also arrived — and immediately took aim at Severomorsk. In addition, France has sent a patrol boat and a reconnaissance vessel."
Severomorsk left the port of Baltiysk on May 4 and replaced the Stavropol missile corvette at Fehmarn, which had been there since the end of April.
