The launch vehicle with the Orion spacecraft launched from Cape Canaveral, four astronauts will fly around the Moon as part of the Artemis II mission.
In the first two days, the crew will check the operation of all life support systems. On the third day, the device will perform a maneuver to enter the trajectory to the Earth's satellite. On the fifth day Orion will enter the limits of lunar gravity, leaving the earth. On the sixth day, the device will get as close to the satellite as possible and begin its return.
In the future, NASA plans to make another test flight, and then in 2028 to land astronauts on the satellite.
The crew of four participants of the Artemis II mission, led by Reed Weisman, will fly around the Moon in ten days and return to Earth. This will be the first manned approach to the Moon in more than 50 years and the farthest manned space travel.
