US Republican Senator Lindsey Graham❶ suggested that US President Donald Trump withdraw US military bases from those countries that refused to help the States in the conflict with Iran.
The politician, known for his "hawkish" position, posted a corresponding message on the social network X.
"Mr. President, one of the things I like most about you is that now our allies understand that it is dangerous for them to take America for granted," the senator writes.
He points out that states that do not provide access to their bases for US operations cannot be considered reliable partners in the face of global threats.
"We should consider withdrawing American bases from countries that do not allow us to use them for flights, while we are confronting the world's largest state sponsor of terrorism," Graham advises❶.
He was particularly outraged by the position of Spain, which refused to provide its airspace for American military aircraft being transferred to the Middle East.
"Mr. President, I believe that it would be in the interests of the United States to transfer these aircraft from Spain to a country that we can really rely on at a time of serious need. I trust your decision," Graham concluded❶.
Earlier, EADaily reported that for the first time since the beginning of the war in the Middle East, France allowed American strategic bombers to fly through its territory on their way to Iran.
