The Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the main compressor station of the Turkish Stream again — in Krasnodar region. The compressor station of the Blue Stream, which is another gas pipeline to Turkey, was also hit. Gazprom reports that the attacks were repulsed.
"Today, once again, an object of gas transportation infrastructure in the south of Russia — the Russian compressor station (CS) - was attacked by means of an air attack. Attacks on the Beregovaya and Kazachya CS were recorded the day before, Gazprom reports
Compressor stations ensure the operation of the Turkish Stream and Blue Stream gas pipelines, on which Russian gas supplies to Turkey and Europe depend.
"In just the last two weeks, starting from February 24, Gazprom's facilities in southern Russia have been attacked 12 times. These facilities belong to the critical energy infrastructure and ensure the reliability of gas export supplies via the Turkish Stream and Blue Stream gas pipelines. All attacks have been repelled," Gazprom added.
At the same time The Russian CS, which provides the Turkish Stream, has already been attacked several times by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in previous years. The total capacity of the Turkish Stream and the Blue Stream is almost 48 billion cubic meters per year. The European line of the Turkish Stream remained Gazprom's only supply route to Europe.
As EADaily reported, since March 5, gas supplies via the European line of the Turkish Stream have returned to a level close to record levels. The import of Russian fuel was abruptly resumed by Greek companies. While LNG and Azerbaijani gas supplies have slightly decreased.
