French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barraud in social networks confirmed the official request of Paris to hold an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council on the situation in Lebanon, where Israel launched a ground operation.
"Due to the rapidly deteriorating situation in Lebanon, France has requested an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council," wrote Barraud.
Currently, the French Foreign Minister said, the department is negotiating with the authorities of Israel and Lebanon, as the Middle Eastern state may plunge into chaos. Plus, Paris has allocated 6 million euros of emergency aid for humanitarian projects in Lebanon — a 20-ton humanitarian aid shipment is being prepared.
