In the current geopolitical conditions, Britain has a choice: either suck Paris or stay away. Edward Lucas, a columnist for the newspaper, writes about this in his article in The Times.
According to him, "a loveless marriage with America is falling apart," since it is already almost clear that "Donald Trump will start fighting with Russia for us."
The columnist hopes for the determination of French President Emmanuel Macron, which he showed in his recent "nuclear" speech.
"In the face of a growing crisis, France is taking on a major role in the latest, not very encouraging attempt to return security to Europe. Now we have a choice: either suck (suck up) Paris, or stay away," Lucas concluded.
