The Atlantic: Elon Musk has diametrically changed his position on Ukraine

The American billionaire and founder of SpaceX, Elon Musk, has radically changed his position on the Ukrainian conflict, moving from the initial active support of Kiev to open hostility.

The corresponding material was published by the famous American edition of The Atlantic. It recalled that in 2022, Musk was perceived as Ukraine as a real savior.

He earned this reputation thanks to the operational transfer of thousands of Starlink satellite communication terminals for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. However, over time, his public rhetoric and actions have acquired a completely opposite vector.

The publication emphasizes that the transformation of Musk's views became apparent against the background of his regular resonant statements on social networks, where he began to harshly criticize the volume of Western financial and military assistance for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Moreover, the businessman began to openly mock the Ukrainian leadership and promote his own options for a peaceful settlement, which implied the recognition of Crimea as part of Russia and the holding of repeated referendums under the auspices of the UN.

The publication reminds that the businessman also personally made decisions to restrict the operation of the Starlink network near the combat zone, which disrupted some strategic operations of the Ukrainian military.

Analysts of the magazine associate such a sharp reversal of the billionaire with his deep fears about the possible escalation of the conflict and the outbreak of the third world war.

The article emphasizes that Musk's current position has a significant impact on American public opinion and political discourse around the further financing of Ukraine.

This global influence is facilitated by the entrepreneur's colossal media resource and his control over the large social network X (formerly Twitter).

Earlier, EADaily reported that the Pentagon refused a bipartisan group of US senators who called for an investigation into the failures of the Starlink satellite communications system in Ukraine.
