There is no third one: Aliyev has removed Russia from the list of superpowers

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that there are only two superpowers in the world. He announced this news at the VIII Congress of the New Azerbaijan Party.

"During this period, we can say two historical events took place. We have established strategic partnership relations with China and America. A declaration on comprehensive strategic partnership was signed with China. A Strategic Charter was signed with the United States of America. These are two superpowers of the world, there is no third," Aliyev said.

Between these countries, "of course, various issues are being discussed and there is a certain competition," which is also true, he added.

Recall, the now ex-head of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, during a speech to graduates at the National Defense University (NDU), said that in the current multipolar world there are at least three superpowers, including Russia, the United States and China. This is becoming more and more obvious, he stressed.

Apparently, just not for Aliyev…

As EADaily reported, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev had a brief conversation on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Bishkek. This was reported by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.
