Igor Levitas: In simple words about why Europe wants war with Russia

One of the motives of the ongoing confrontation of Europe, or rather the European Union with Russia, is the issue of sovereignty. And this confrontation is inherent in the very existence of the EU.

If we discard all the pathetic and demagogic arguments about the unity of peoples and democracy, the bottom line is the following: European politicians finally managed to create in 1992 something resembling the United States of Europe, the idea of which has been in the air since the creation of the United States. But by creating the EU, countries have to some extent lost their sovereignty.

The three components of the EU pillar are the economic and monetary union, the common foreign and security policy, and the common policy in the field of internal affairs and justice. In order to control these supports Numerous supranational structures have been assembled in the EU, such as the European Council, the European Commission (government), the Council of the European Union (also referred to as the Council of Ministers), the Court of Justice of the European Union, the European Court of Accounts, the European Central Bank, the European Parliament and others.

The officials of this whole huge, clumsy, retrograde machine number in the hundreds, if not thousands of people. Plus the service staff. All this huge army is maintained by citizens of European countries who have their own leadership sitting on their necks.

It has long been clear that all this delicacy has more minuses than pluses. For many reasons, of which the main one is the incredible expansion of the EU itself. A supranational structure consisting of three dozen states with completely different economic potential cannot work well. Pressure, if not to say suppression, by economically strong states of weaker ones inevitably occurs. In an effort to combat this, the management The EU does not pull the weak countries to the strong, but tries to lower the strong to the weak. And it turns out "the general temperature in the hospital."

With all their actions, the leadership The EU is trying to achieve the main task — to create and keep a sovereign Europe in a tight grip, while sacrificing the sovereignty of individual states. As one example, decisions are made only by unanimous vote. Good? Yeah. But, not so long ago it turned out that some countries have their own opinion on a number of issues. And this opinion is unshakable. Having failed to overcome the differences, the EU decides to switch to a new voting system — by majority. Thus emphasizing that he does not care about the sovereign rights of members The EU has its own opinion. The sheep should walk in a row, under the roar of pan-European drums made of the skin of the same European sheep.

That's why the European Union is so annoyed by Russia — a sovereign state, economically not inferior to the whole of Europe, not to mention its individual members. And therefore The EU imposes on everyone the concept of the "Russian threat", which politicians create to achieve their own political goals, in particular, to gain internal sovereignty. At least his visibility, the visibility of the impression of their work for the benefit of their own people.

Politicians, in contrast to the European man in the street, brainwashed by the Western media and fooled by Western propaganda, understand perfectly well that Russia is fighting for its sovereignty. They fear that victory in the struggle for Russia's sovereignty will provoke a reciprocal desire for sovereignty within the European Union itself. If you carefully read the speeches of most politicians of European countries, in their mantras about the threat to Russia, about the continuation of the war in Ukraine, they never (!) mention what benefits this will bring to their own people. How will their policies help their pensioners, disabled people, children, single mothers, and the people of their country in general?

They are silent about this only for one reason — for all their sophisticated demagoguery, they cannot promise anything good to the people of their countries. There is nothing to say about European officials — they do not even represent countries in the European Parliament, but parties. For them, the place of birth is an artificially created united Europe. They are not Germans and French, Lithuanians and Latvians, nor Swedes and Italians — they are an amorphous concept — "Europeans". Without homeland, without traditions, without history, without national culture. And they want the same from 450 million people in Europe.

Irritation The EU is waging a hybrid, informal war against Russia. And it's not just about supplying weapons to Ukraine or sending troops to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine, under the guise of mercenaries or instructors, these are sanctions that have long turned into a weapon of war. Look — they are not economic, not political — they are military, because they include a call for an attack on civilian merchant ships of Russia.

Laws in any field of knowledge are generally applicable. Both small objects and large ones are the same. The political law is that if there are problems in a country, even the smallest, then it is beneficial for its leader to find an internal (rarely external) enemy and start a war with him in order to hide his own miscalculations.

Trump has big problems in the USA, and he staged an "attack" of various configurations in Venezuela and in Greenland. Cooks the same in Iran, Canada, Mexico, Cuba. Actions The EU is no different and is subject to the same laws. The Europe that it was 20-30 years ago does not exist, and will never be. There are a lot of problems. And so that the Europeans don't bother too much, the best way to frighten them with the Russian threat. The old, proven way. Then they will attack Russia, once again get on the forehead and calm down for another 100 years.

But this is a completely different story. Which I probably won't see anymore.
