Russian President Vladimir Putin dismissed Sergei Ivanov from the post of representative for environmental protection.
"To dismiss Ivanov Sergey Borisovich from the post of special representative of the President of the Russian Federation on environmental protection, ecology and transport," the decree says.
Press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that Ivanov was relieved of his post at his own request.
In 2001-2007, Ivanov was the Minister of Defense of Russia, in 2011-2016 he headed the presidential administration.
Ivanov has held the position of special Representative for environmental protection, ecology and transport since 2016. Since April 2017, he has also been a member of the Supervisory Board of Rostec State Corporation.
