The US State Department has approved potential military supplies to Israel worth more than $ 6.5 billion under three contracts, the Pentagon said on January 30, Reuters reports. One of the contracts provides for the sale of JLTV tactical cars and equipment for them in the amount of $ 1.98 billion. The second contract involves the sale of AH-64E Apache helicopters worth $ 3.8 billion. The third military contract was signed in the amount of $ 740 million.
The main contractor for the first deal is AM General LLC, and Boeing and Lockheed Martin are the contractors for the supply of Apache helicopters.
In March 2025, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that since Donald Trump took office as US president on January 20, his administration has approved the supply of military equipment to Israel worth about $ 12 billion.
Rubio also promised that the United States "will continue to use all available tools to fulfill America's long-standing obligations to ensure Israel's security." At the same time, he signed a document according to which the United States will accelerate the delivery of military aid to Israel in the amount of about $ 4 billion.
The Biden administration sent thousands of 2,000-pound bombs to Israel after the attack by Palestinian Hamas militants on October 7, 2023, but later deliveries were suspended for fear that their use would lead to large civilian casualties in the Gaza Strip.
On January 26, Trump announced the lifting of the ban on the supply of bombs weighing 2,000 pounds (about 907 kg) to Israel.
The leaders of the United States, Egypt and Turkey on October 13 in Sharm el-Sheikh signed an agreement to end the war in Gaza as mediators between Israel and Hamas, RBC reminds.
