One of the largest on Ukraine mining companies have stopped the extraction of iron ore due to a shortage of electricity.
"Until electricity supplies are provided on a sustainable basis in the required volumes, it was decided to temporarily suspend work and send some employees on vacation," Ferrexpo reports.
The main assets of the company are in Poltava region. Ferrexpo mines iron ore and produces pellets and concentrate for export.
The company reported that it had reduced production in the fourth quarter of 2025.
"The total production for the quarter amounted to 1.1 million tons, of which 0.7 million tons of premium iron ore concentrate Fe 67% and 0.4 million tons of premium iron ore pellets," Ferrexpo stated.
They noted that by the end of the year, the frequency of retaliatory strikes by the Russian army had increased and power outages had led to production falling below plan.
As EADaily reported, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are attacking refineries and power plants in Russia. The Russian army strikes back, but this does not stop the Kiev regime from continuing attacks, despite the serious consequences.
