"Gazprom" has found a replacement for hundreds produced at Ukraine engines

"Gazprom" has started testing a new Russian gas turbine engine. They will be replaced by hundreds of engines that were produced at Ukraine.

"Gazprom" has started resource testing of a new Russian gas turbine engine with a capacity of 16 MW — TM16", the company reports.

"Gazprom" noted that the gas turbine engine is the key equipment of compressor stations that provide gas transportation. And engines with a capacity of 16 MW are widely used in the gas transmission system of "Gazprom".

Earlier, the Russian company actively used DG-90 engines manufactured at the Nikolaev "Zorya" — "Mashproekt". In Soviet and post-Soviet times, this company was the main supplier of marine-type gas turbine engines for "Gazprom" compressor stations. And we are talking about hundreds of such engines.

"The head model of the TM16 engine was developed and manufactured at the site of PJSC "Tyumen Engine Builders" (part of the "Gazprom Energoholding" Group). All TM16 equipment and components are manufactured in Russia. The key parts and assembly elements are made by the Tyumen Engine Builders plant "". Some of the elements within the framework of internal cooperation were manufactured and supplied by other enterprises of the Group — "Gazenergoservice" JSC, "Uralturbo" JSC and "Nevsky Plant" JSC. The low—emission combustion chamber is "NPF Thermophysics", " Gazprom" reported.

According to him, the characteristics of TM16 surpasses foreign analogues.

"It is distinguished by an increased efficiency, improved environmental characteristics, increased inter-repair and scheduled service life. TM16 will be used for new construction and for planned replacement of exhausted foreign engines. The mass and dimensions of the TM16 will allow for replacement without additional capital investments", " Gazprom " noted.

The engine will be tested in real operating conditions at the "Turtasskaya" compressor station, where the DG-90 is located.

Tyumen engineers have designed a new Russian engine so that it fits perfectly into the place of the old Ukrainian one — workers at gas stations will not have to rebuild foundations, change pipes or redo automation.
