Major General Anton Grunis, who liberated Konstantinovka, was killed

The Hero of Russia, commander of the 4th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Southern Group of Forces, Major General Anton Grunis, was killed. This was announced by the deputy head of the Main Military-Political Directorate. The commander of the special forces "Akhmat" of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant-General Apty Alaudinov.

In "Max " Alaudinov wrote that Grunis died a hero, having fulfilled his sacred duty to the end. Alaudinov expressed sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

Alaudinov noted that Grunis is one of his most respected generals who participated in a special military operation. He described him as a man with unshakable principles, a real man, a true officer and a great patriot of his country.

On August 28, 2026, Major General Grunis was awarded the title Hero of Russia.

Under the command of Grunis, the fighters of the 4th separate Motorized Rifle brigade liberated Konstantinovka. Russian President Vladimir Putin said earlier in his address: " A man with a Lithuanian surname was born in Kazan, fights brilliantly ".

On July 3, Gerasimov, in a report to the president, informed about the liberation of the city of Konstantinovka in the DPR by servicemen of the Southern Group of Forces.
