Explosions thundered in Frankfurt am Main, Germany

Several explosions occurred in Frankfurt am Main on the morning of September 17. This is reported by Bild.

"Two loud bangs were heard early on Thursday morning. One of the incidents occurred on the central shopping street Zeil. Around 4.20 am, several calls were received to emergency services. Currently, a large number of police officers are at the scene", the report says.

A police spokesman said that two explosions occurred simultaneously. On the famous Zeil shopping street, an explosive device detonated in front of a kiosk entrance. The second explosion occurred on Berger Strasse (Nordend district) in front of the entrance to the store. According to police, it is currently unclear if there are any victims.

Earlier, at the beginning of the week, three other explosions occurred in Frankfurt am Main within 24 hours. Including one of them thundered in the lively Bockenheim district, where students, families and creative youth live. The target of the attack is still unknown. After these explosions, the police arrested the suspect, who turned out to be a 15-year-old Dutch citizen. Preliminary results of the investigation show that the explosions are connected with organized crime.
