An earthquake of magnitude 4.1 occurred in the Black Sea near Sochi.
"Today, around 13.00, residents of the Lazarevsky district felt seismic activity. To us in EDDS received calls from residents of Magri, Lazarevsky, Loo. We are waiting for confirmation from the Central Seismological Observatory in Obninsk about the strength of the tremors, now they have subsided. There are no injured people or infrastructure damage. Keep calm," wrote the mayor of Sochi Andrei Proshunin in the telegram channel.
According to the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences", the epicenter of the earthquake was located in the Black Sea, approximately 5 kilometers from the coast of Sochi. The strength of the concussions in the Lazarevsky district was 4 points, in the Central district — 3 points.
"On Sunday afternoon, January 4, Sochi residents reported on social networks about light shaking and wobbling of furniture, the tremors were felt by citizens living closer to the epicenter," the telegram channel "EMERGENCY Sochi" reports.
