The lowest air temperature over the past day on Earth was recorded in Yakutia, the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia told TASS.
"The world's top 3 was headed by Yakutsk Pokrovsk," the report says.
In the city the frost reached minus 51.7 degrees, in the Olenkensky district of the republic at the Sukhana weather station the air temperature was minus 49.4 degrees (second place in the top), and in the village of Krest-Khaldzhay — minus 48.7 degrees.
