"New feint": Russians advised to postpone trips to Azerbaijan

The "new feint" performed by the assistant to the President of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev "clearly tells the citizens of the Russian Federation that it is better to wait with tourism to Azerbaijan in order to avoid sad stories when Russians are grabbed in hotels and just on the street and appointed drug dealers." The telegram channel "Ugur Mammadov" writes about this, commenting on Hajiyev's statement.

According to the author of the channel, Hajiyev brought ambiguity to relations with Russia. He again referred to the incident with the crash of the AZAL plane. He noted that "the concerns of official Baku were discussed at the level of leaders in Dushanbe." But then he made it clear that these worries have not gone away. According to Hajiyev, Azerbaijan raised four main issues with Moscow — an official apology, a comprehensive investigation, bringing the perpetrators to justice and paying compensation. And obviously, Ugur Mammadov believes, these issues have not been resolved in Baku's understanding.

"Azerbaijan expected an official apology from Russia, a full investigation, bringing the perpetrators to justice and compensation for the downed AZAL Airline plane. Now we have turned the page of misunderstanding and will continue normal good—neighborly relations between the two countries," Hajiyev said in an interview with EU Today.

And this was at that time, Ugur Mammadov emphasizes, as the communication between the presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan, Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev, in Dushanbe "just took place under the sign of a detailed story about how Russia had solved almost all the listed issues by that time." The fact that it is better for Russians to postpone trips to Azerbaijan is indicated not only by Hajiyev's statement, but also by the fact that the new head of the Azerbaijani diaspora, Vidadi Mustafayev, was detained in Yekaterinburg after Shahin Shykhlinski.

"The same is evidenced by the next series of arrests of Azerbaijanis in Yekaterinburg, where the new leader of the national community, the permanent hero of criminal scandals, was 'accepted'," the author of the channel noted.
