The authorities of the Kiev regime have identified a list of countries whose citizens can obtain Ukrainian passports without renouncing their first citizenship.
Also, in accordance with the law on multiple citizenship, it is in these countries that Ukrainians will be able to apply for a second passport without renouncing the Ukrainian one.
BBC-Ukraine writes about this, noting the fact that this list turned out to be much shorter than expected. At first, we were talking about several dozen states, but only five of them remained in the published list — the USA, Canada, Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic.
Citizens of these countries will be able to obtain a Ukrainian passport under a simplified procedure without renouncing their citizenship, and Ukrainians will be able to obtain citizenship of these countries without renouncing a Ukrainian passport.
The publication explains that Kiev has chosen the countries where there are the most Ukrainians today: in Canada and the USA there are descendants of previous waves of migrants with passports of these countries, while in Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic there are Ukrainians refugees from the war.
The law on multiple Citizenship came into force in July. At the same time, the parliament instructed the government to develop a list of states with which Ukraine is ready to introduce multiple citizenship.
The head of the Kiev regime, Zelensky, then said that only those states that are "reliable partners of Ukraine" and support it "in the war with Russia" could be included in the list.
Earlier, EADaily reported that the Odessa City Council recognized the loss of Ukrainian citizenship of ex-mayor Gennady Trukhanov, deputies voted for his resignation.
