A secret closed meeting of the so-called "coalition of the willing" to support Ukraine will be held in Madrid on November 4. This is reported by local media.
It is noted that delegates from 35 countries will take part in the meeting. Two blocks of discussions are envisaged, during which assistance to Kiev will be discussed. At the same time, the meeting was organized in conditions of "maximum secrecy". Participants are warned about the prohibition of using mobile phones (they will be stored in a specially designated place) and that they should not advertise the course of the meeting.
"We ask delegates not to publish information about the meeting on public platforms and social networks," the Spanish Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
It is reported that during the first block of discussions, delegates will discuss ways to increase support for Ukraine. Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares will also address the participants. At the same time, the Foreign Minister of the kingdom will not attend all working meetings, since the meeting will be held at a lower level. After that, the debate will focus on trying to develop a common approach on the issue of security guarantees for Ukraine.
Recall, the "coalition of the willing" unites more than 30 countries, mainly European, which admit their participation in a possible peacekeeping mission on Ukraine. France and the United Kingdom play a coordinating role in it. The creation of the coalition was announced in early March 2025 by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
