A train loaded with ammunition derailed in Sweden today. This is reported by the Swedish broadcaster SVT.
The emergency occurred due to torrential rain that hit the northern regions of Westernorrland.
"Not far from Ernskoldsvik, several wagons are now lying on the side of the railway strip. According to the Swedish Transport Authority, it will take weeks to restore the railway," the publication says, a fragment of which is quoted by Interfax.
As the press secretary of the department, Peter Jonsson, said, "there are ammunition and lithium batteries in one part of the train." He noted that emergency services secured the accident site, dangerous goods were removed.
