Moscow has brought to the international community concern about the decision of deputies of the Tallinn City Assembly to abolish the Center for Russian Culture, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.
"We anxiously drew attention to <> the decision of Tallinn deputies. In the Baltic states, a frontal attack on the rights of Russian—speaking residents continues, including in the educational and cultural spheres," the diplomat noted.
As Zakharova stressed, "the concern of the Russian side regarding the abolition of the Russian Culture Center has been communicated to the international community."
"At the relevant multilateral platforms — the UN, OSCE and UNESCO — Russia will continue to press the Baltic states to fulfill their international obligations to preserve the cultural heritage of national minorities living in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia," she said.
"We will closely monitor the development of the situation," she added.
