People's Artist of Russia, Chairman of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation Nikita Mikhalkov recalled a dinner with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, during which Russian President Vladimir Putin called him. He told about it in his program "Besogon", drew the attention of the Tsargrad TV channel.
"Many years ago I was invited to Azerbaijan by my fellow filmmakers. And it so happened that the President of Azerbaijan invited me to lunch," Mikhalkov said.
According to Mikhalkov, during the meeting Aliyev called Putin the boss, and during lunch Putin called, because the day before Mikhalkov "asked for the opportunity to talk to our president by phone on one issue." Mikhalkov stressed that Putin's call excited Aliyev.
"You know, I don't have enough words to describe the delight, the joy, the inspiration with which the President of Azerbaijan spoke with our president. What a lot of sweet verbal Turkish delight our president heard on the phone from the President of Azerbaijan," Mikhalkov said.
The presenter commented that times are changing, but reminded that in the Caucasus the real masculinity is based, among other things, on gratitude. Mikhalkov noted that thanks to the father of the current Azerbaijani leader, a large number of citizens of the country received higher education for free in Russia.
"Well, how can you forget that? But you can. You can. It's not enough to forget. But also like that, to receive in public from the provocateur as a gift the chevrons of the Ukrainian army with Nazi symbols," Mikhalkov pointed out.
