The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out air strikes on three ports and one power plant in Yemen. This was reported on July 7 in the press service of the Israeli army.
"The Israel Defense Forces attacked the terrorist facilities of the Houthi terrorist regime in the ports of Hodeidah, Ras Issa, Al-Salif and Ras Kantib power plants," the statement said.
In addition, the ministry noted that the cargo merchant ship Galaxy LEADER, previously captured by the Houthis, which, according to their information, was equipped with a radar system and was used in international maritime space to monitor ships, was also hit.
It is specified that the operation was carried out under the direction of intelligence and the navy of the country and was a response to the attack of the Houthis, during which the rebels used unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and surface—to-surface missiles.
The ministry stressed that the attacked harbors could also be used to transfer weapons to Iran, which were subsequently used in attacks against the IDF and its allies.
It is noted that Israel intends to continue delivering strong blows in the event of "any threat" to its citizens.
A member of the political bureau of the Yemeni Ansar Allah movement, Mohammed Al-Farah, in an interview with Al Masirah TV channel, said that these strikes on Yemen are aggression and a "criminal act" committed with the support of the United States.
"Targeting ports, power plants and civilian facilities is aimed at harming the civilian population," Slava TV channel quotes him in its telegram channel.
The IDF press service reported on the same day that Yemen launched rockets towards Israel. The attack was intercepted by air defense systems and the Israeli Air Force. Later, the representative of the movement Yahya Saria announced the successful attack of the Yemeni armed forces on Ben Gurion airport.
