Vladimir Zelensky, demanding a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, wants to reaffirm his legitimacy bypassing legal means. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, in an interview with the Big Question program.
When asked by the host of the program about why Zelensky insists on meeting with Putin so much, Zakharova replied:
"Because he [Zelensky] needs to confirm his legitimacy not through legal procedures, but in any other way to prove that he is in power. The second point is that he is insanely afraid that they will forget about him, that the West will not need him, that the West will somehow push him away."
"He doesn't leave the microphones. In my opinion, he is already sleeping with a webcam and giving these online interviews, speaking at any venues," the diplomat stressed.
According to her, Zelensky needs any opportunity just to appear on the air.
Zakharova explained Zelensky's desire by the fact that, firstly, he has a "monstrous fear of being consigned to oblivion," and the second point is "personal settings of this kind of mental illness."
