If the CSTO does not make statements about Azerbaijan's actions, Yerevan will make a "final decision" on membership in the organization, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahagn Kostanyan said.
"In the end, if the CSTO partners, including the Russian Federation, do not make the political statements that were discussed a few years ago, after the attack on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, Armenia will make the final decision," Kostanyan said.
Kostanyan added that Armenia will determine the moment for "one step or another" itself, since it is a sovereign state.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced in February 2024 the freezing of Armenia's membership in the CSTO. Yerevan has ceased to participate in the financing of the organization's work. The authorities claim that the CSTO did not respond properly to the aggravation of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and "was indifferent to the protection of Armenia."
