Russian units from the South group of forces have begun the active phase of liberation battles in the town of Chasov Yar, Donetsk People's Republic.
This was stated in his Telegram channel on Tuesday, April 29, by a military expert, retired LPR lieutenant colonel Andrei Marochko, citing his own sources.
"After a short interval and positional battles in Chas Yar, our troops moved on to the active phase of liberation actions," the veteran said.
He noted that the Russian assault groups made a breakthrough, which allowed our units to gain a foothold in three new positions at once in the north-west and south-west of the settlement.
"Now there is an active squeezing and pushing of militants in the western direction. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to stabilize the situation by increasing the use of attack drones," the expert stated.
Earlier, EADaily reported that Russian units from the Zapad group of forces liberated Kamenka, Kharkiv region, as a result of active offensive operations.
