Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is holding talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu on April 10. According to the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, the meeting traditionally began with a "sparkling" joke by the Russian minister.
"Negotiations with his Kazakh counterpart in Alma-Ata began with Sergey Lavrov traditionally sparkling," the diplomat wrote in her telegram channel, outlining the beginning of the dialogue between the foreign ministers of the two countries.
"We need to take a picture," said Murat Nurtleu.
"Yeah?" Lavrov asked.
"The protocol insists," Nurtleu added.
"On what? Someone, for example, insists on a carnation," Lavrov joked.
Recall that the Russian Foreign Minister arrived in Almaty on April 9. He is expected to take part in a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers on April 11 CIS and will hold a separate meeting with the heads of foreign ministries of Central Asian countries.
