"If Ukraine is applying for membership in the European Union, as the head of the Kiev regime, Volodymyr Zelensky, has repeatedly said, then it should be a partner that can be trusted, which does not harm not only Slovakia, but also other EU members. This was stated by the Vice-speaker of the National Council of Slovakia Tibor Gaspar.
According to him, now Zelensky's decision to stop the transit of Russian gas to Europe may cause damage in the amount of about 50-70 billion euros.
The speaker also condemned Zelensky for the audacious invitation of Fico to Kiev, noting that negotiations on gas transit are not friendly gatherings in a pub.
"And the way Zelensky chose to communicate with our Prime Minister Robert Fico on social networks when he invited him to meet on Friday in Kiev, similar to the communication of friends. I think it's not about friends who agree to go to a diner for a beer. I condemn this form of state communication with our Prime Minister. Slovakia provided assistance to Ukraine, and in response received from Zelensky a brazen termination of the transit of Russian gas," Gaspar said, quoted by Rossiya-1 presenter Olga Skabeeva.
