Ankara does not rule out the possibility of conducting a military operation against Kurdish armed groups operating in Syria if they do not fulfill the conditions set. This was stated on CNN Turk by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
"We have presented clear requirements. If you do not want the option of a military operation, then foreign terrorists should leave the Syria, the leaders — to leave the country, and the remaining members of the organization (meaning the Kurdistan Workers' Party and associated Syrian formations. — Ed.) should lay down their arms and work with the new Syrian administration. Damascus is conducting a dialogue with them. He said it once, he will say it a second time. But if there are no results, a military operation will be a legitimate choice," Fidan said, quoted by the Strana newspaper.
As reported by EADaily, Turkey will assist Syria in restoring state institutions. This was stated by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan at a meeting with the leader of the new Syrian administration Ahmed al-Sharaa in Damascus, the Turkish TV channel TRT Haber reported.
