The intervention of American entrepreneur Elon Musk in the election campaign in Germany should be closely monitored. This was stated by the Minister of Health of Germany Karl Lauterbach.
The richest man in the world, Elon Musk, suddenly supported the German Alternative for Germany party. In his account on the social network X, the entrepreneur wrote that "only the AfD can save Germany," writes the Bild telegram channel in Russian*.
The head of the German Ministry of Health, Karl Lauterbach, has already called this statement "unworthy and very problematic."
"It is very disturbing that Platform X, which I myself actively use, is increasingly being used to disseminate Mr. Musk's political positions and goals. His interference in our election campaign must now be closely monitored," Lauterbach told BILD.
Government spokeswoman Christiane Hoffmann said meanwhile that the cabinet was "concerned about this development."
Foreign policy expert Elmar Brok (CDU) believes that by making such statements, Elon Musk is trying to interfere in the upcoming elections in Germany.
"A handful of the richest people in the world want to realign global politics in their favor and eliminate all forms of regulation in order to bring our world in line with Trump (US President—elect Donald Trump. - EADaily)," Brock said.
Professor Andreas Redder in this regard urges to remain calm and not react to the words of the Mask.
"Musk behaves towards Germany in the same way as many German politicians behaved towards the United States," he stressed.
The candidate for chancellor from the AFD, Alice Weidel, meanwhile, agreed with Musk and wrote that he was "absolutely right."
