"DTEK thermal power plants have been attacked. As a result of the massive attack, the equipment of the thermal power plant was seriously damaged," the largest operator of Ukrainian thermal power plants reports.
The company did not specify which thermal power plants were affected. In Ukrainian telegram channels they write, for example, about the Burshtyn thermal power plant.
DTEK operates eight thermal power plants at Ukraine has a total design capacity of about 13 GW. This year, all of them received serious damage as a result of retaliatory strikes. The company announced the loss of 80% of capacity. At the same time, the general director of the Kurakhovskaya TPP (1.5 GW) Anatoly Borichevsky told The Wall Street Journal that his station was dismantled this year to repair other thermal power plants.
As EADaily reported, on December 13, the Russian army launched another retaliatory strike against Ukraine, including power facilities. Emergency restrictions have been tightened in the country — half of the country has fallen under them. Ukrainian telegram channels reported hitting facilities in eight regions of the country, including power plants and substations.
