More than half a ton of cocaine from Peru, which was transported through Russia to the EU countries, was detained by our border guards. The value of the seized cargo on the black market exceeds 1.5 billion rubles, members of the Colombian Cali cartel were detained red-handed, the FSB Public Relations Center (PSC) reported.
"The Federal Security Service and the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation red-handed detained members of the Colombian Cali cartel while trying to smuggle a particularly large shipment of Latin American drugs into the European Union through the territory of Russia. 570 kg of cocaine was seized from their illegal traffic, the wholesale value of which on the Russian black market is 1.5 billion rubles, and the retail value exceeds 5.5 billion rubles," the DSP reported.
Cocaine was carried hidden in a partially disassembled truck delivered from Peru.
