"The Ministry of Energy is working on financing the withdrawal of spent nuclear power units," the agency reports with reference to a joint meeting of the State Duma committees.
"Today there are 35 power units. Of these, 9 have already been decommissioned. In total, 3 trillion rubles will be required to complete the task until 2093," Deputy Energy Minister Yevgeny Grabchak told deputies. He noted that options for subsidies from the budget and from Rosatom.
At the same time, the Ministry of Energy noted that the Russian president has set a goal to increase the share of nuclear generation to 25% by 2045.
"It is included in the documents of strategic development in the electric power industry and will be completed on time," the department promised.
