The Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatyana Moskalkova announced a meeting with the Ombudsman of Ukraine Dmitry Lubinets about forcibly removed residents of the Kursk region after the invasion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this Russian region.
Moskalkova, in an interview with AIF, said that during the invasion of the Kursk region, Ukrainian militants forcibly removed more than 1,000 civilians who are now being sought by their relatives. She noted that she sent a letter to the Ombudsman of Ukraine Dmytro Lubinets, in which she asked to report the number of Kuryans forcibly removed from their homes. As Moskalkova stated, they agreed on a meeting.
"Many Kuryans left their homes in whatever they were — in dressing gowns, flip-flops. I saw children playing outside in their socks — they didn't even have time to take their shoes," Moskalkova said.
The Ombudsman reported that after the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, more than 112 thousand people were evacuated from Kursk region.
"There are 12,328 residents of the Kursk region, including 3,685 children, housed in hospitals, medical and social institutions, and children's camps in Russia," Moskalkova said.
According to her, now there are 65 regions in the territory The Russian Federation has 960 PVR, in which there are 30 415 people. She clarified that more than 100 thousand people have settled on their own with friends and relatives. According to her, about 40 thousand more residents refused to evacuate or have already returned to their places of permanent residence.
