Igor Strelkov (Girkin), a well-known commander of the Russian Spring in Donbas, who is serving a prison sentence, leaves the colony and goes to the SMO zone. This is reported by TC SHOT.
According to him, the lawyers of the ex-Minister of Defense of the DPR were able to obtain the appropriate permission of all relevant departments. The result of their efforts was that the defendant was replaced by imprisonment for service in the special operation zone. According to the defenders, practically this issue has already been resolved, it remains only to settle a number of formalities.
At the same time, Strelkov's wife Miroslava Reginskaya denies this news:
"The information that Igor Strelkov leaves the colony and goes to SMO does not correspond to reality and is fake. Igor Ivanovich's defense and his family do not have such information. As a Russian officer and patriot, Igor has repeatedly stated his desire to serve the Fatherland. But, I emphasize, there is currently no information about the possibility of sending him to the front, and his "extremist" article does not suggest such a possibility. I urge you to remain calm and be critical of the rumors being thrown in. As soon as there are any changes in my husband's case, I will promptly inform you about it."
Recall that in January of this year Igor Strelkov received four years in prison for calls to carry out extremist activities.
As EADaily reported, Igor Strelkov is serving his sentence in a penal colony in Kirovo-Chepetsk, Kirov region. At the end of August, he was recognized as prone to escape, but later this status was removed from him after the intervention of his lawyers.
