Hungary began evicting refugees from Transcarpathia from shelters. This is reported by Uzhgorod journalist Vitaly Glagola.
120 Transcarpathian Roma who lived in a private shelter in the city of Koch, which received subsidies from the state, were evicted, writes Glagola in his telegram channel.
The day before, a government decision came into force in Hungary, according to which refugees can receive the right to state aid only from those regions of Ukraine where there have been or are fighting. Budapest's actions have caused a wave of indignation in Germany, writes Ukrainian opposition blogger Anatoly Shariy.
"The Germans are indignant... for the Germans this is savagery. And it's true that the refugees who miraculously escaped from the regularly shelled Transcarpathia are in dire need of help. I hope Germany will accommodate," he says ironically.
In Hungary, new rules for the admission of Ukrainian refugees came into force yesterday, according to which some of them will lose state aid, the Russian Air Force Service reported on the eve.
It was noted that now only refugees from areas directly affected by the fighting can count on state aid — housing subsidies and social benefits. These are Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Zaporozhye, Lugansk, Nikolaev, Odessa, Sumy, Kharkov, Kherson, Chernihiv, Kiev regions, as well as Kiev. That is, residents of Western Ukraine will remain without state aid, the BBC clarifies. The list will be updated every month. According to the BBC, 31 thousand citizens of Ukraine have been granted asylum in Hungary.
