Oil depot in Proletarsk became inflamed: on the fourth day, another tank exploded

The fourth day the fire continues at the oil depot in Proletarsk, Rostov region, which was attacked by drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to reports from the field, another tank exploded on Wednesday. The tank farm itself has been dug in, but it is not yet possible to extinguish the fire inside it.

"It happened about half an hour ago. Previously, no one was injured this time," the telegram channel reports.

According to him, more than 600 rescuers are working on the spot — they are trying to prevent the fire from spreading further.

On Sunday night and in the morning, the tank farm was attacked by drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Ministry of Defense reported that the drones were shot down. Debris fell on the tank farm. This turned out to be enough to start a fire, which is still being extinguished.

The governor of the Rostov region Vasily Golubev reported that 41 firefighters were injured.

"Uninterrupted water supply is provided by two fire trains, as well as 5 main lines to them and the reservoir from where the water comes. To prevent the occurrence of a landscape fire nearby, additional mineralized strips have been created around the industrial site. Also, two water discharges by Il-76 aircraft of the Russian Emergencies Ministry were carried out on the adjacent territory today," the governor wrote in the telegram channel.

In Proletarsk, a temporary accommodation point was deployed and a medical watch was organized, Vasily Golubev reported.

"Currently, inpatient care in medical institutions in Rostov-on-Don and St. Petersburg continues to receive 13 firefighters. The rest of the rescuers received outpatient care," the head of the region added.

As EADaily reported, before that, 11 tanks could have been depressurized at the tank farm during a fire. Judging by satellite images, the fire is raging in one of the six zones with tanks. A total of 74 tanks are located at the tank farm. The oil depot is located 1-1.5 kilometers from residential buildings.
