An agreement has come into force in Donbass on complete and termless ceasefire reached at the negotiations of the Contact Group in Minsk on March 2. The Operative Commandment of the Donetsk People’s Republic has announced that military units do follow the order on complete truce.
“The complete and termless ceasefire has come into force. We are thoroughly watching the situation on the line of contact. Our units fully comply with the tasks set; the ceasefire is fully observed; no skirmishes have been fixed,” a representative of the Operative Commandment of the Donetsk People’s Republic has told reporters.
Earlier, the commandment released an order introducing a monitoring system to control observance of the ceasefire.
The same order was given to units of the Lugansk People’s Republic.
The leadership of the republics states that the ceasefire is in force in the whole territory of Donbass. Both the republics say that they are not subjected to fire from the Ukrainian side. It is unclear how long it can last, but now uncommon silence has come to the whole length of the line of contact.
To remind, on March 2, participants of the negotiation process agreed at a meeting in Minsk that a general, sustainable and termless ceasefire would start from 00:00 of March 5 (Kiev time).
