The nuclear-powered strategic submarine Generalissimo Suvorov successfully launched the Bulava intercontinental ballistic missile.
As the Russian Defense Ministry told the TASS news agency, the shooting was carried out from an underwater position in the Sea of Okhotsk.
The missile's warheads arrived at the Chizha tactical training ground in the Arkhangelsk Region at the estimated time. The successful completion of the task was confirmed by objective monitoring data, and the firing itself was carried out by the crew of the Pacific Fleet as part of planned combat training.
The Generalissimo Suvorov missile submarine belongs to the fourth generation of the modernized Borei-A project. The ship joined the Navy at the end of 2022 and currently serves as part of the permanent readiness Forces in the Pacific Fleet.
Earlier, EADaily reported that a combat training launch of a mobile-based solid-fuel intercontinental ballistic missile was conducted at the Plesetsk state test cosmodrome.
